Operation Colleton River Residents Gift Meals on Wheels, Bluffton-Hilton Head

October 2022---Meals on Wheels, Bluffton-Hilton Head is excited to announce they are the recipient of a grant from Operation Colleton River to support the purchase of meals for our most vulnerable neighbors. This recent grant is an expansion of a former grant issued this past April. This additional funding will provide meals to 333 of your local neighbors who are homebound and need a daily hot nutritional meal. We are so grateful for this expanded support. As of the YTD third quarter, the organization has delivered 27,302 meals to 255 clients.

Operation Colleton River, formerly Operation Santa Claus, was first incepted by a group of extremely generous and caring members that wanted a way to give back to the local community. What they thought would be a small group quickly turned into participation of nearly the entire Colleton River family. Operation Colleton River has not only enhanced the feeling of community within the gates of Colleton River but has reached out far across the Lowcountry.
